Land Rovers arrived in Mane Bhanjang in the late 1950s–60s, serving as lifelines by transporting essential supplies from nearby regions, including Nepal. As roads improved and tourism grew, they became key for passenger transport. In 2004, local drivers formed the Mane Bhanjang Singalila Land Rover Welfare Association to ensure safe, fair, and organized operations while preserving this heritage.
